Product choice and history

the product that I have chosen is Coca Cola

Product history

Coca Cola over the years have had loads of print advertisements. One of the first print advertisements was in 1890 and it used the slogan refreshing and invigorating. Coca colas first billboard which is also a form of print media came along in 1925 and the purpose of this billboard was to show how popular the brand Coca Cola has gotten overtime. In 1944 when the war took place Coca Cola decided to create a poster which had a solider on it to remember the war.
The Coca Cola billboard yes girl which was painted by haddon sundblom was debuted in 1946.
Mary Alexander was the first African American woman To appear on a Coca Cola advertisement she appeared in 15 Coca Cola print adverts in the 1950s .

Over the years Coca Cola has created many upon many Audio-visual adverts over the years. The first ever Audio-visual advert that Coca Cola did took place in 1956 and it was called ballroom dancing. This advert had two well known people in it as well including Alf Davies and Julie reaby. The slogan that was in this advert was Coca Cola puts you are your sparkling best.

Coca Cola also created cartoon adverts for Coca Cola promotion. They created 3 of them and they where the next 3 after the first advert.  The 3 of them were called door, rug and sousaphone and these all came about around the 1960s. All 3 of these included the jingle only coke will do when your thirstiest, Coca Cola refreshes you best.

 RUG.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyCR5SNo7aE

These three are the first ever animated Coca Cola adverts and they all came out in 1965. they are all related because they all include the same 2 animated characters that were created. The technology back then wouldn’t have been very good so this would have taken a long time to complete. If something like this was created today the animations would have been more realistic and also would have been done a lot faster than back in 1965. All three of them had colour and it was the first time that they had managed to achieve something like this.
