gradient overlay- i liked gradient overlay because you can add many colours into one piece of text which made it look creative. you could also change the style to different things such as radial, linear, reflected and diamond. you could also choose as many colours as you would like to go into the masthead. the problem that i had with this was trying to change the angle and actually see a difference from one angle to another.

pattern overlay- i was enjoying this one loads because it was very creative and looked interesting. there were plenty of blending choices to choose from. all of them would of worked well with the masthead but i could only pick one which may have been a disadvantage because not all the ones i liked could feature on here. what i had problems with was trying to understand what the scale with the percentage was supposed to do. i tried it and didn't see any difference between the percentages.

satin- i didn't like satin because i think that it was too confusing and i didn't understand anything to do with it. it took me about 5 mins to finally understand what satin does and what works best with it. i didn't think i would use it again because it wasn't worth it for the time it took to do.
